Q – As a frequent flyer, I have always wondered if a flight attendant has the power to upgrade me to Business Class or even First? I think I’ve seen it happen once or twice, but I can’t be sure the flight attendant did not know the passenger. Just something I’ve wondered about.
A – With few exceptions, the answer is yes. Although upgrades to an aisle seat, or economy plus are far more likely than an invitation to Business. How you are dressed and your general manner are important and we would suggest that you not come out and ask for a comp upgrade. Because a very specific number of meals are prepared for First Class guests, comp upgrades almost never occur to the front of the plane.
