Travelers landing in Istanbul to begin a cruise or tour, should be advised that, effective on April 10th, Turkish visas will no longer be available for purchase at the airport. E-Visas will be accepted if obtained from authorized Visa services or the Turkish Embassy.
Previous visitors to Turkey were permitted to stand in line to purchase their entry visas on arrival. That practice is now ended. Visitors arriving in Istanbul from abroad after April 10th, without a Visa can be denied entry. This policy change is, in part, a reaction tot he immigration issues faced by Turkey in recent years.
