THE REALLY BIG PICTURE
Sometimes, we in travel need to step back a few paces, to see the big picture in terms of future travel destinations. NASA’s latest data collected from the amazing Kepler long-range telescope, now indicates that there may be as many as 17 billion planets the size of Earth in the galaxy, including the 461 new ones Kepler just unearthed.
NASA scientists seem to believe that these recent discoveries have “dramatically” increased the odds that extraterrestrial life exists. The Associated Press quotes noted Astronomer Francois Fressin, as saying that “each star you’re looking at, almost each one of them, has a planetary system.
As we consider where our future generations might travel on vacation, it is interesting to note that the mathematical odds would now seem to point toward the likelihood that outer planetary inbound tourism may be just over the horizon.
